Lesson 4 - Blossoming Together
SUMMARY OF THE LESSON
In Lesson 4 we will paint a 40x30” canvas in portrait orientation. We will begin by loosely planning our composition. Then we will paint flowers in layers using brushes and a large trowel to create dimension in the petals.
LESSON OBJECTIVES
- Creating large textured flowers using a trowel or palette knife.
- Painting in layers, knowing when to paint wet in wet and when to stop and let things dry.
- Painting dark to light to create values and interest in white flowers
- Using a sponge to create light layers and a misty effect
- Keeping things light, loose and fun!

- ½” Filbert brush
- Extra Large Round Brush

- Quinacridone Gold
