This course is comprised of five total lessons. We will begin with a warm up where we will explore many of the tools we have gathered for this course.  This is a great time to loosen up and have fun.  In the main lessons, I will share my process step by step as I create several intuitive landscapes.  We will experiment with creating textured clouds and mountains, soft blended skies over hillsides, a beach scene with more texture and interest, and more.  These lessons are infused with various techniques to teach you how to create beautiful artwork in a fearless state!  Along with learning more about landscape painting, you will discover more about values, color mixing, composition and design.  Are you ready to become addicted to creating beautiful landscapes for your home!?  I hope to see you in class!

In lesson one we will take our marked up canvas from the warm up and turn it into a large abstract landscape painting! Throughout we will explore a variety of techniques for creating texture and interest with acrylics.

In Lesson 2 we will tackle another large canvas, using a mixture of blues, greens and brown to create a moody abstract beach scene. We will paint the sky using a trowel, a large brush and some paper towel to add interest and texture. We finish off with shimmering hints of metallic gold to add a little sparkle.

In Lesson 3 we will paint a beautiful pink and yellow sunrise over an abstracted landscape. We will focus on painting a soft blended sky as a backdrop to a textured hill with waves rolling up to a beach.

In Lesson 4 we will tackle an extra large 36x72” canvas! We begin without a plan creating an abstract landscape in many layers, using the techniques we learned throughout previous lessons.

Throughout the course I chat a lot about mindset. The idea that nothing is too precious is an important aspect of my painting process. If you are not happy with a piece you can always add another layer of paint! In this bonus lesson we will put that into action as I transform the finished piece from our first lesson into a whole new painting!
